What I Use
I started out with an HTML editor called HyperType, which was an excellent
freeware editor geared towards beginners. I quickly learned to write my own
code, however, and graduated to Programmer's
File Editor - a freeware multi-document editor with macro features that I
found invaluable. In fact, I still use it on occasion when I need to do
formatting and other macro-able work. Last year, I discovered Homesite,
a text-based editor that has complete search and replace functionality, supports
Active Server Pages, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, case conversion, and
more. This site was created using Homesite (with tag tips and the other stuff
turned off).
